I have a five week old parrotlet. I have been told that parrots love to take baths. Can I put a perch in the shower? It would be out of the direct spray, but I worry about the the scents and or chemicals of soaps and shampoos. Anyone have any opinion or experience about this? Also any bonding activities or ideas would be greatly appreciated. He lets me take him out of the cage...but as soon as I stop petting him, he gets bored and wants to head back to his cage.

Yes many birds love to take showers with their humans. There are perches available that will suction to a smooth wall. They should be placed at the far end of the shower so only the overspray from you lands on the bird.
